The village of Sestriere has a very recent history in fact it was built from scratch in 1934 on the old territory of Champlas du Col, Sauze di Cesana and Borgata Sestriere, which used to be part of the neighbouring Pragelato
Sestriere has won a well-deserved prestige in the world of ski for its high quality ski slopes and the atmosphere of its resort. It has one of the biggest domains that can be covered with artificial snow which helps skiers to enjoy this resort from the very beggining of the ski season.
